My exams finished last Friday. It was a rough road of 30 days, but I got through it, and I know most people’s exams finish over the next couple of weeks. So the question now is, what do we do next. We suddenly have all of this free time on our hands which was once filled with revision. So what can you do, well here are some suggestions:
1) Keep going to school
Wait, so the place I’ve hated for the last few months I should go back to? well, yes! You can sit at home all day bored stiff or go into school and relish in your new found freedom with all of your friends
2) Do something you’ve missed
Start up a hobby that you’ve had to put on hold for your exams. Read a book, learn a language, play an instrument. Do something you’ve missed and enjoy it.
3) Be conscious of other people
You may have finished your exams, but be aware of when other people finish. It’s hard to hear about how bored you are when people are still revising for 6 remaining exams.
You’ve finished! You’re free! Perhaps wait until everyone has finished and then all do something together, just try not to get too carried away.
5) Go to lessons (if you have exams next year)
If you go to a school, chances are you will start next years work. The great thing about lessons at this time of year is that they are very chilled out and the pressure of exams is so far away it may as well be non existent. You will be learning just because you want to learn.
6) Talk about the future with your friends
Maybe you’re about to start A levels, maybe you finish A levels soon. Either way, you still have your whole life ahead of you and it’s interesting to think about what’s to come. Research some options; your eyes may be opened to some fantastic new opportunities.
7) Make plans for the summer
Okay, the summer holidays may still be a while away, but that doesn’t mean you can’t plan for them. Make sure that this summer is a summer to remember!
8) Have fun
Hard work doesn’t start until September, so just kick back and chill out.
Would you add anything to this list? Let me know in the comments. If you want advice on what you can do this summer, come back next Wednesday for a summer bucket list! There I’ll also be a new post up Saturday evening about turning 17 so feel free to come and view that.
